Pastor Overseer: Pastor Andre Day
Chair: Sis. Von Hall and Marcus Holloway
Frequency of ministry fellowship and/or meeting: Bi-monthly
We are a uniformed ministry, providing encouragement, direction, & assistance to all coming through the doors of the sanctuary. We direct them to available seating; make sure they have any literature, bulletins, fans, tissues, or whatever the congregation needs to be comfortable. We help with small children when needed, & make sure order is maintained during the services. We keep a watchful eye over the congregation throughout all services, & provide support to individuals when overcome with the spirit. We clean & maintain the sanctuary between services. We are positioned in key areas throughout each service & can easily be identified by our black suits, white collar shirt, black tie, & white gloves. We travel & serve as Support to Pastor whenever he is a guest speaker at other churches. We are a silent ministry & have hand signals which allow us to communicate with each other from across the room.
Our Function is to usher the people into the Lords house with efficiency, encouragement & love, while showing patience & making sure needs are met & seats are secured in the Lords house. Our Goal is to make sure each person feels welcome and to ensure a seed has been planted in their hearts that this is the place God wants them to be. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Anyone interested in becoming part of this ministry must:
• complete the new member's classes
• be personable, friendly, patient, with a positive attitude
• attend Bible Study, Sunday school & a Worship service apart from the one you work, and
• be available to serve for our 8am, 11am, & any away services that Pastor is a part of.
We are a uniformed Ministry, we require you to have a black suit (pants & skirts acceptable for women), white collar shirt or blouse, black tie (provided for women) white gloves, & very comfortable black shoes. You will be on your feet for long periods of time, so we ask for people with the endurance.
Ezekiel 37:10 “So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.”
